ISBA:
Judge Maloney was admitted to the Illinois bar in 2001. He spent the majority of his career as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Cook County, where he was last assigned in the Narcotics Unit.
Judge Maloney was appointed to the circuit court in 2019 and elected in 2020. His first short assignment was in Traffic Court. Since 2019, he has been assigned to the Sixth Municipal District (Markham) in the Traffic and Misdemeanor rooms. He has also served in the Problem Solving Courts there, which involve substance addiction, and mental health issues.
Judge Maloney has been a speaker on the Problem Solving Courts at the Southwest Bar Association and the ISBA. He is active in church and community organizations as a coach and mock trial coach/judge. Comments about Judge Maloney’s legal knowledge, sensitivity, character, temperament, and diligence were all positive. ISBA recommends Judge Daniel E. Maloney be retained to the Circuit Court of Cook County.
