Judge Kuzas was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1989. He was elected to the circuit court in 2014 and retained in 2020. He is assigned to First Municipal, presiding over preliminary hearings in Branch 44. Prior to his election, he was in private practice focusing on criminal defense. He is a member of various judicial associations and has served on the board for the Jesse White Tumbling Team.
Attorneys described him as a knowledgeable judge who applies the law carefully, is professional and diligent. ISBA recommends Judge Robert D. Kuzas be retained to the Circuit Court of Cook County.
