Our organization is committed to the goal of becoming an independent mass socialist party as a part of the global political movement of the working class. The party will be united around a democratically created program that outlines goals that, enacted together, will allow the working class to rule and end capitalism. DSA orients itself in opposition to all ruling class political forces. DSA’s project is to unite workers to win the battle for democracy and bring about socialism, not to seek a governing coalition with a perceived lesser evil under the current undemocratic political system. Twin Cities DSA members endorse candidates and ballot measures that build socialist, working-class power in the Twin Cities.

Our goal is to help voter choose candidates that will deliver on a very important issue: expanding social services to allow the average American to focus on what matters - themselves, friends, family, and their community. Maslow's hierarchy of needs dictates that humans must achieve lower-level survival requirements before they can focus on higher-level personal growth. With the average American living paycheck to paycheck, one cannot afford to grow as a person or expand their happiness.

We are a group of “common citizens” who realize this fight isn’t between Right Wing or Left Wing, Blue or Red; The real fight is against the 1% Oligarchs who are using their power & influence to control the government, all the while making us foot the bill, as they reap all the benefits. We’ve had enough! Now it’s time for the 99% to unite and take action!
