As we approach the 2026 Texas primary elections, I’m choosing to make recommendations rooted in lived experience, working-class values, and accountability. Having grown up in public housing in Puerto Rico and the South Bronx, navigating foster care and complex systems at a young age, I understand firsthand what it means to live within the policies politicians debate.I’ve worked my entire adult life in healthcare and education, relocated from New York City to Central Texas for affordability, and currently live in affordable housing myself. Like many working Americans, I know what it means to work full time and still live paycheck to paycheck. My political views may not fit neatly into a box, but I consider myself a working-class progressive — someone who believes leadership should be grounded in cultural competency, integrity, and the courage to advocate for everyday people. I support candidates who prioritize working families, demonstrate independence, and are committed to economic breathing room and real equity for the communities they serve. These recommendations reflect my commitment to ensuring working-class Texans are seen, heard, and represented by leaders who understand their realities.
