2026 California Primary
U.S. House of Representatives - California 11th Congressional District
Connie Chan
DemocraticAfter nearly 39 years in office, Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi announced her retirement from Congress last year. She is a huge act to follow, but we know that Connie Chan is up to the challenge. As an immigrant who was raised in San Francisco's Chinatown, Connie understands all too well the day-to-day struggles of working San Franciscans. She was called to service, first as an interpreter for her community, then a community organizer. She has served our city to develop equitable policies at every level of local government, and in her current role on the Board of Supervisors, she has fought for deeply affordable housing, to protect small businesses, and uphold worker and tenant's rights. While running for Supervisor, she has beat back billionaire-funded astroturf PACs, not just once, but twice! As Budget Chair, she's ensured that community organizations serving the most vulnerable San Franciscans have had a seat at the table. We have no doubt that she'll continue that fearless advocacy in Washington, D.C.
California Governor
Tony Thurmond
DemocraticTony Thurmond is a lifelong advocate for working families who drew on his own experience growing up in poverty to serve as a public educator, school board member, Richmond City Councilmember, State Assemblymember, and two-term State Superintendent of Public Instruction. He has been a steadfast ally to the LGBTQ+ community. In 2023 he traveled to Chino Valley Unified School District to speak out against a policy that would out LGBTQ+ students to their parents and was forcibly removed by security for doing so. He is the only gubernatorial candidate interviewed who openly supports taxing billionaires.
California Lieutenant Governor
Michael Tubbs
DemocraticMichael Tubbs is a former mayor of Stockton and recognized statewide as a leader focused on expanding economic opportunity and effective public policy. Shaped by the challenges faced in his youth, having grown up in poverty and forced to navigate systemic barriers, he has maintained a clear commitment to addressing inequality through pragmatic, results-driven solutions. As mayor of Stockton, Michael championed numerous initiatives such as guaranteed income pilots, public safety reform, and investments in education and housing that resulted in the city being named the second-most fiscally healthy city in California and one of the most fiscally healthy cities in the nation. Tubbs brings a disciplined, equity-focused approach to governance and is committed to ensuring all Californians, including LGBTQ+ communities, have the opportunity to succeed.
