Colorado Amendment 84 is on the November 3, 2026 ballot.
What it does
Require voters casting ballots by mail to place their signature and some form of real ID on their ballot
On your ballot
Shall there be an amendment to the Colorado Constitution requiring a voter to sign and include the last four digits of their social security number or their Colorado driver’s license or identification card number on the outside of their mail ballot for any federal or state election, and, in connection therewith, allowing the voter to correct missing or incorrect information, including with alternative forms of identification; and prohibiting a county clerk and recorder from counting the mail ballot unless the problem is fixed?

A yes vote supports amending the Colorado Constitution to require voters casting ballots by mail to provide both their signatures and an identification number. Acceptable forms of identification include:
the last four digits of their Social Security number;
a Colorado REAL ID number;
a Colorado REAL ID driver's license number; or

Requires mail voters to provide a signature and identification number. Discriminates against illegal voters, so progressives will call it racist.

Amendment 84 would establish additional voter-identification requirements for mail ballots while preserving an opportunity for voters to correct deficiencies.
Why Vote YES?
Every eligible voter should be able to vote—and every legitimate vote should be protected.
Colorado conducts elections primarily through mail ballots. That makes strong verification procedures especially important.
Requiring voter identification information provides voters and election officials with another tool for confirming that a ballot belongs to the individual who submitted it. Importantly, a ballot problem should not automatically mean the voter loses the opportunity to have the ballot counted; the amendment provides for correction of specified deficiencies.
Election integrity and voter access are not opposites. A trustworthy election system should provide both.
Position: Secure the ballot while protecting legitimate voters' opportunity to correct errors. Vote YES.
