Ballot Measure Threshold is on the November 3, 2026 ballot in Utah.
What it does
Require a supermajority requirement of 60% by voters for citizen-initiated ballot measures that create new taxes, increase existing tax rates, or for a property tax
On your ballot
Shall the Utah Constitution be amended to require that citizen-proposed laws that increase taxes compared to existing law be approved by at least 60% of voters, instead of a simple majority?
What a no vote means
A "no" vote opposes requiring citizen-initiated ballot measures to receive at least 60% voter approval to make certain tax-related changes, thus maintaining that such initiatives need only a simple majority requirement (50% plus one vote) to pass.
