Proposition No. 1: Local Sales and Use Tax

"Shall the Village of Hershey, Nebraska, impose a local sales and use tax in the amount of one and one-half percent (1.5%) upon the same transactions within the Village of hersey upon which the State of Nebraska is authorized to impose a sales tax, with all proceeds from such additional sales and use tax to be used exclusively for public infrastructure imporvements, including public park and park facility infrastructure projects, subject to the following terms and conditions:

1. Use of Tax. The proceeds from the Village sales and use tax authorized by this proposition shalled be used soley for the contrustion, reconstruction, improvement, maintainance, and replacement of municipal infrastructure, including public parks, park grounds, plauground equipment, recreational facilities, and related park infrastructure, streets, water systems, sanitary sewer systems, stormwater infrastructure.
2. Termination of Tax. The additional Village sales and use tax of one andone-half percent (1.5%) shall be in effect for a period of ten (10) years beginning on April 1, 2027 through Marc 31, 2037 and shall automatically terminatre unless extended by a future vote of the qualified electors of the Village.
