The County Recorder and Surveyor is a joint position responsible for reviewing subdivision maps as prescribed by state law, and also preparing legal descriptions and maps for other county departments. County Surveyors also assist the public in matters relating to land boundaries to ensure that sound surveying is used in the preparation of maps and plans for project development.
