The Board of Trustees is elected at large from the district for a four year term and governs on behalf of the citizens of the school District. Once a year, the Board selects among its members for positions of leadership (President, Vice President, and Clerk.) The Board is responsible for representing the public interest, establishing policies that define the institutional mission, hiring and evaluating the CEO, assuring fiscal health and stability, and advocating and protecting the district.

Stacy Fortner has been a community advocate across Santa Clarita and Hart schools for years. She has a strong focus on the long term challenges facing the district and has been an outspoken supporter of the vulnerable students being targeted by the current board’s tactics. Multiple people have run against Joe Messina and have lost due to low voter turnout and Joe’s extensive campaign funds. With the extensive outreach projected this year, there is a real chance to materially change the shape of the district. We recommend you vote for Stacy Fortner.
