Shasta County Measure F is on the November 3, 2026 ballot in California.
What it does
Amend the county charter to allow members of the Board of Supervisors to appoint or call a special election fill vacancies of elected department head positions
On your ballot
This measure adds a subsection to the Shasta County Charter. The proposed addition
would require that, whenever a vacancy occurs for a Shasta County Elected
Department Head Position, the Board direct staff to fill the Vacancy by calling for
an election, and consolidating it with the next regularly scheduled election, so long
as that election occurs within 12 months of the vacancy. Should the next regularly
scheduled election not occur within 12 months of the vacancy the Board shall, by a
4/5 vote, fill the Vacancy by appointment via open recruitment.
