Judge Henry was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1986. After a career as an assistant public defender she was appointed to the circuit court in August 2019 and elected to a countywide vacancy in 2020. Since October 2020 she has been assigned to the Fourth Municipal District (Maywood). She has been a speaker to new judges and is a member of various bar and judicial associations. She has been a board member of the Illinois Judicial Council and received their President’s Award in 2023 and the Distinguished Service Award in 2025. She is also a veteran of the Illinois Army National Guard.
The investigation revealed overall feedback that she is a good judge who mainly follows the law and who is honest, respectful and calm. ISBA recommends Judge Sheree Desire Henry be retained to the Circuit Court of Cook County.
