Judge Green was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1986. Prior to his election in 2020 he was a supervising attorney with the Corporation Counsel’s Office for Chicago and with the Illinois Attorney General’s Office. After initial assignments in Traffic and Domestic Violence, he has been assigned to the Law Division – Commercial Calendar since April 2025. He has been a speaker on legal topics and is active with various bar and judicial associations having served as past president of the Advocates Society, as a Board member of the Polish American Judges Association, the Illinois Judges Association, and the Illinois Judges Foundation. He was the Advocates Society recipient of the Chicago Bar Association Vanguard Award in 2024.
Attorneys spoke highly of his legal knowledge and ability, temperament and character, many stated that “the bench could use more like him”. ISBA recommends Judge Jonathan Clark Green be retained to the Circuit Court of Cook County.
