Judge Tirado was admitted to the Illinois bar in 2005. She began her career in the Domestic Violence Court in the Public Defenders’ Office. She worked briefly for a white collar criminal defense firm before establishing her own practice in criminal defense, immigration, and traffic cases. From 2016 until her election in 2020, Judge Tirado was a supervisor in the Community Activism Law Alliance, dealing with criminal defense, traffic and immigration cases. After her election, Judge Tirado was assigned briefly to Traffic Court before being assigned to the First Municipal Division, where she covered the Eviction Trial room as well as the Early Resolution Program. In 2024, she was assigned to the Civil Jury room, where she currently presides.
Judge Tirado has served as a panelist, speaker or moderator on various topics for the University of Illinois law school, the CBA, and WBAI. She is currently co-authoring the bench book for the First Municipal Division. Judge Tirado received favorable comments for her diligence, temperament, sensitivity, and character.
