Judge Kyriakopoulos was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1990. After a career as a prosecutor, he was appointed to the circuit court in February 2010; reappointed in August 2012; elected in 2014 and retained in 2020. Since 2015 he has been assigned to the Chancery Division, Mortgage Foreclosure/Mechanics Lien Section. He received a service award from the Hellenic Bar Association in 2023, and is currently on their Board, as well as serving as president of the Order of Themis. He has been a speaker on legal topics and involved in other community activities.
Attorneys reported that he is professional, good at explaining the law to pro se litigants, and treats all equally. ISBA recommends Judge Anthony C. Kyriakopoulos be retained to the Circuit Court of Cook County.
