ISBA:
Judge Kenworthy was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1995. She was elected to the circuit court in 2008; retained in 2014 and 2020. Since 2019 she has been assigned to the Criminal Division, Leighton Criminal Courthouse, presiding over a felony trial call. Prior to her election, she had focused on criminal defense as both a private practitioner and an assistant public defender. She has served on Illinois Supreme Court Committees, edited a bench book on criminal law and procedure, been a judicial mentor and instructor for new judges, and is treasurer of the Illinois Jewish Judges Association.
She received high praise from attorneys for her legal knowledge, ability to handle complex cases, integrity and professionalism. ISBA recommends Judge Diana L. Kenworthy be retained to the Circuit Court of Cook County.
