Judge Reaves-Harris was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1992 and elected in 2020. She started her judicial career in Traffic Court, where she served until her current assignment in November 2021 to Housing Court. Her duties include dealing with all municipal housing code violations, for all structural including residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional.
Before becoming a judge, she served as an Administrative Law Judge for various municipalities, including Chicago, and served as a State Representative for the 10 District from January 2015 to January 2017. From 2017 to November 2020, she was Special Assistant to Legal Affairs in Cook County Government.
Judge Reaves-Harris was praised for her legal knowledge, sensitivity, character, diligence, and temperament. ISBA recommends Judge Pamela Reaves-Harris be retained to the Circuit Court of Cook County.
